Treating Rubber seals with Silicone Grease


Silicone grease is a good conditioner for rubbers so given the age of my car's seals, I gave it a try. A very cheap mod and virtually nothing can go wrong.

 

Anyway, I have finally found some time to work with the rubber seals. Mine don't squeak but they do show their age. The door seals seem a bit hardened too.

So I got this:
Pretty cheap too!

I applied the grease using a rubber glove and wiped the excess. From a first view, the seal looks like new. It's shiny black, softer and will block water better than before.
